Scheduling Information Mark Thompson's Technical and Physical Requirements Set up and tear down: The presentation can be set up and taken down in as little as 30 seconds. Optimally we like to arrive 30 to 60 minutes before the audience. This allows time to determine logistics and have a sound and cue run through. Performance area: A 6' by 6' performance area with the audience a minimum of 6' away.If available, a stage with easy front or side access for set up and audience member access. Good lighting focused on the performance area. Sound: A P.A. System with a microphone on a microphone stand is required for all presentations.( A cordless hand held mic is preferred, although a regular handheld mic will work with 25 feet of cord)A CD player and tape deck which is amplified through the PA system for background music songs. A monitor to hear the playback music and voice. A technician to run the sound and CD player. (optional ) An electric piano or acoustic piano amplified through the PA system. A mic on a boomstand for vocals at the piano. What if no sound system is available? Depending on the size of area we can provide or subcontract a sound system and electric piano, if needed, for an additional fee. Promotional Strategies We can help you with promotional items such as an 8x10 black and white glossy picture, a sample press release and a cartoon clip art. We can give you suggestions about promoting your event for great success. How to book an event with Mark 1. Call us about your event date (we book some events two years in advance and others have come with as little as two weeks notice, it all depends on availability.) 2. We discuss your event needs and our services and fees. 3.We schedule the date and a contract is executed by mail. 4. A deposit check is then sent in along with the signed contract.
